  UTI Infection

URI-KleerTM

Conventional treatment measures for UTIs generally involve the use of antimicrobial preparations and antiseptics. These control measures, however, are faced with a serious handicap of antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is a fundamental issue that drug companies world over are facing. The situation is no different in the case of UTIs wherein the disease is caused by a common bacteria Escherechia coli, commonly found in the gut of all advanced living beings.

URI-KleerTM now offers a safe natural way in the treatment of UTI’s. An extract from hibiscus may cut the incidence of urinary tract infections by 60 per cent, shown by a preliminary study. Furthermore, the flavonoids and pro-anthocyanidins in Hibiscus sabdariffa exert antimicrobial activity against bacteria like E coli, preventing them from adhering to the bladder wall.
Moreover, studies claim that the ingredient has low bioavailability and molecular compounds are eliminated by urinary excretion - an important result for strategies against UTIs.

What causes urinary tract infections?
Usually, a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) such as Cystitis or other forms of E-coli infection are caused by bacteria that can also live in the digestive tract, in the vagina, or around the urethra, which is at the entrance to the urinary tract. Most often these bacteria enter the urethra and travel to the bladder and kidneys. Often, your body removes the bacteria, and you have no symptoms. However, some people including women and older people of both sexes seem to be prone to infection.

Signs & Symptoms:
· Urinary tract discomfort
· Fever, tiredness or shakiness
· An urge to urinate often
· Bladder heaviness and  discomfort
· Urine that smells bad or looks cloudy or reddish
· Passing of small amounts of urine

URI-KleerTM contains a patented product, that has been shown to prevent the adhesion of E.coli and in certain cases Candida-  to the bladder lining.

FAQ's regarding UriKleer

Who will use UriKleer?
UriKleer is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections such as cystitis (bladder infection) and urethritis. It can also be used to assist with the treatment of candida.

How do I know if I have a bladder infection?
If you have contracted a bladder infection you will have one or more of the following symptoms:
  • Nausea, lower back pain and fever may be initial signs of a kidney infection.
  • Urgent desire to empty the bladder
  • A burning sensation when you urinate (painful urination)
  • Feeling like you need to urinate more often than usual (increased frequency)
  • Feeling the urge to urinate but not being able to
  • Sensation that there is urine left immediately after urinating
  • Leaking small amounts of urine
  • Urine will have a strong, unpleasant odour, and may appear cloudy
  • In children, there may be lower abdominal pain when urinating
How do I contract a bladder infection?
Escherichia coli is the main a bacteria present in urinary tract infections. E. coli occurs naturally in the digestive tract. If E. coli leaves the digestive tract (in the faeces) and enters the urinary tract (through the urethra), it attaches to the lining of the bladder and starts to cause the symptoms mentioned above due to the infection. E. coli is a bacteria that is found in all toilets and bathrooms.

What will increase my risk of contracting a bladder infection?
If you have had one bladder infection there is a 20% chance that you may contract a second bladder infection.
The following conditions will also increase your risk:
  • Pregnancy
  • Sexual intercourse
  • Use of contraception methods such as the diaphragm
  • Systemic disorders such as diabetes
  • Structural abnormalities that restrict the flow of urine (narrowing of the urethra, sphincter abnormalities)
  • Menopause
  • Retaining urine in the bladder for long periods
  • Antibiotic use
  • Incorrect hygiene habits
Why is it that I seem to contract a bladder infection, and my husband never does?
Women tend to get urinary tract infections more often than men because bacteria can reach the bladder more easily in women. The urethra is shorter in women than in men, so bacteria have a shorter distance to travel. The urethra is also located near the rectum in women. Bacteria from the rectum can easily travel up the urethra and cause infections.

Will using an alkalizing agent like Citro-Soda help?
Alkalising agents work for the temporary relief of the symptoms like the burning sensation when urinating. E. coli is a bacteria that likes to live in alkaline urine, therefore the bacteria will be able to flourish when using the alkalizing agent. To treat the infection you will need to acidify the urine.

Why does my second course of antibiotics not seem to be clearing this bladder infection as quickly as the first coarse did?
Frequent intake of antibiotics results in an increased resistance by the bacteria and therefore there is an increased risk of other infections.

What is UriKleer?
UriKleer is a 100% natural product containing the patented ingredient UTIRose. UTIRose is an extract from Hibuscus sabdariffa. URIKleer is the first natural product in South Africa which is clinically proven to treat Urinary Tract Infections associated with E Coli. Also Candida Albicans to a lesser degree. UriKleer is manufactured using animal free capsules and Non Genetically Modified ngredients.

How does UTIRose work?
UTIRose is an extract from Hibuscus sabdariffa. Hibiscus sabdariffa is an acidic, anti-bacterial herb that acidifies and deodorizes the urine and protects against urinary tract due to high concentration of organic acids. Protocatechuic acid has been isolated and it has been shown to have antibacterial properties. Protocatechuic acid also has an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Acinetobacter Paumanni. The presence of palmitic acid and stearic acid (fatty acids) increase the acidity of the urine.

Flavonoids in Hibiscus sabdariffa form a complex with bacterial cell walls and destroy the bacterial cell membrane.

How effective is UriKleer for the treatment of bladder infections?
Research has shown that UriKleer kills off E. coli within 24 hours of treatment. Further research indicates that UriKleer could reduce the incidence of bladder infections in susceptible patients up to 77%.

How do I use UriKleer to treat my bladder infection?
It is advisable to use the UriKleer 5 Day treatment pack. Take 2 capsules on day 1. After 24 hours you will experience a great improvement in symptoms. Thereafter it is important to take one capsule every day for the next 4 days. This is to ensure that you get rid of all the causative E. coli organisms. Try to drink 2 to 3 liters of good quality water during these 5 days. Please contact your doctor should conditions persist after 5 days.

If I get recurrent bladder infections what can I do to reduce the frequency of infections?
The UriKleer Maintenance pack is designed for individuals who have an increased risk for contracting bladder infections as well as for people who have recurrent bladder infections. You need to take one capsule daily for 4 weeks. This will reduce the frequency of infections by at least 60%. If you are an individual who suffers from more than 4 bladder infections in a year, you can use the UriKleer Maintenance pack for about 6 months. This may decrease the frequency of infections by 77%.
Also consider the following tips to reduce the incidence of bladder infections:
  • Drink plenty of water to flush out bacteria. Drinking cranberry juice may also help prevent urinary tract infections. However, if you're taking warfarin, check with your doctor before using cranberry juice to prevent urinary tract infections. Your doctor may need to adjust your warfarin dose or you may need to have more frequent blood tests.
  • Don't hold your urine. Urinate when you feel like you need to.
  • Wipe from front to back after bowel movements.
  • Wear white cotton underwear.
  • Avoid sitting in a wet bathing suit.
  • Avoid any fragrance-containing toilet paper, sanitary pads, tampons, and bubble baths. These chemicals can aggravate the infection.
  • Urinate after sexual intercourse to help wash away bacteria.
  • If you get urinary tract infections often, you may want to avoid using a diaphragm as a birth control method. Ask your doctor about other birth control choices.
  • Include celery, parsley, and watermelon in your diet. These foods acts as natural diuretics.
  • Avoid citrus fruits. These produce alkaline urine which encourages bacterial growth.
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, soda, chocolate, and refined sugars.
  • Follow a brief detox program.
  • Include a probiotic into your daily supplement routine.
What do I need to be careful of when using UriKleer?
If you are using the UriKleer Maintenance pack for longer than 2 months you may need to take an iron supplement. Polyphenols in Hibiscus sabdariffa inhibit the absorption of iron, so long time use can deplete iron reserves.

If I am pregnant or breastfeeding can I use UriKleer?
The safety of UriKleer during pregnancy has not yet been determined. It is therefore NOT advisable to use the product during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
If you are trying to fall pregnant, avoid using UriKleer. Hibiscus sabdariffa can reduce the chances of conception while being used.

Can children use UriKleer?
